Par for the course

"Par for the course” is a comedy written by Peter Gordon and is an amateur production by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Plays Ltd.

The action of the play takes place on the patio and practice putting green outside the clubhouse bar of the Seven Lakes Golf Club.

Barry West is a member of the golf club, easy-going and good-natured but disorganized and unkempt. An enthusiastic but very poor golfer.

Simon Weaver is the Club Secretary. Fussy stickler for tidiness, rules, etiquette and gentlemanly behaviour.

Nick Armitage is Vice Captain. Generally amiable and well-meaning but cavalier with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. Has a tendency to get occasional words wrong, often by inserting an unnecessary “i”.

Tiffany Jennings is Nick’s girlfriend and younger than Nick. Not terribly bright but with a heart of gold.

Fran Jeffries is the Ladies Captain. An attractive but rather butch and formidable woman who does not suffer fools gladly.

Laura Weaver is Simon’s long-suffering wife.
