Minutes of Committee Meeting. 14th December 2011
Attendance: - John Dervan, Robert Brown, Kieran Desmond, Kurt Lyndorff, Deborah Hogan, Maria O’Sullivan, Terrie Erdpohl.
Apologies: - Maggie Frame, Betty Daamiens.
Charities: - The charities selected to benefit from our Matinee performance of Cinderella were the society of St. Vincent de Paul and Bantry Lions Club. As the amount realised fell just short of E1400 it was decided to round the figure up to that sum so each Charity received E700. Chequeswere presented to David O’Brien, President of St. Vincent de Paul and to John Dervan representing Bantry Lions.
Garda Vetting: - John Dervan made enquiries regarding Garda Vetting for members of the Group dealing with young people. Vetting for theatre groups is done by ‘Create’. We filled in a form sent out by ‘Create’ and they will let us know what form of clearance we need.
Expenses: - Costs were paid to those who incurred expenses for materials needed for the pantomime.
Spring Play: - A play ‘Beware of the Agapanthus’ written by Robert Brown, one of our members has been chosen as next year’s Spring Play.Performances will be on March 29th and 30th in Glengarriff and on April 13th and 14th in Kenmare. (The Kenmare dates are to be confirmed)
Rehearsals begin on 12th January.
Youth Group Play: - There will be public performances of the Youth Group play, ‘Flowers in the desert’ by D Larson on Sunday February 12th at 2.30 and on Tuesday February 14th at 8pm. There will be a private performance for the B.A.T.H. Group on Monday 13th at 8pm. Rehearsals begin on Monday, January 2nd.
It was suggested that the Youth Group might make a documentary on Social Issues as part of the UN Youth in Action project.
It was agreed that we should create a Youth Page on our website.
Christmas Night Out: - Ten people have booked for this night out in the Park Hotel
AGM: - A provisional date was set for our AGM on the 20th February.
AOB: - We need to sew hems on some of our curtains. This will be done early in the New Year.
